Malakh Shrestha, M.B.B.S., Ph.D., received his medical education at R. G. Kar Medical College, Calcutta, India. Cardiac Surgery residency at Hannover Medical University, Hannover Germany. Dr. Shrestha completed his doctorate in Cardiac Surgery (2005) and post doctorate in Cardiac Surgery (Ph.D./”Habilitation” 2009) at Hannover Medical University.
Prior to joining the Mayo Clinic Rochester, Dr. Shrestha was Professor and Director of the Aortic Surgery, as well as Vice Chairman of division of Cardiothoracic, Transplantation and Vascular Surgery in Hannover Medical University, Hannover, Germany.
Dr. Shrestha’s interests include but not limited to aortic aneurysm repair, root surgery, arch replacement, valve repair and replacement.
